Our GenNext Steering Committee met yesterday to discusss ideas and plans for 2010. At the top of our list - adding service projects so everyone who wants to volunteer has the opportunity to do so, providing professional development opportunities for our members, and keeping our events true to the GenNext/United Way mission as we grow.
What do you think? Post your ideas and suggestions for 2010 and help us strategize!
I wish there were more service projects offered during the week. I know that it’s hard to do with work schedules but I am out of town a lot on the weekends and feel bad for not being able to make it to as many projects as I would like to.

For those that have an interest in computers I think WITS (Web Innovations & Technology Services) would be a great service project. WITS recycles computers and other electronic equipment, keeping dangerous components out of landfills. They also provide computers for low income families and computer literacy training for all ages. I think its a great organization.
