The crisis in Haiti is top of mind for millions of people around the globe, and it’s no different for us in the St. Louis region. This is a tremendous disaster that has touched all of our hearts.
Last Friday morning, we convened at the United Way a group of 10 area agencies that are helping with the Haiti recovery through local, national and international organizations and affiliates.

1. Where do you work?
I work at Express Scripts. It is a pharmacy company. I am a senior product manager.
2. How long have you lived in St. Louis?
I was born and raised here. I moved away for four years to Texas, but I have been back for about one and a half years.
3. How and when did you get involved with GenNext?
When I moved back to St. Louis, I was looking for a place to get involved. While I was away, I did Junior Achievement and volunteered at the YMCA, so when I moved back, I just looked at different organizations. I liked that GenNext had a monthly volunteer schedule, and that everyone else was close to my age and at similar stages in their lives.
4. What’s been your favorite GenNext activity or memory?
I like any of the activities that involve a lot of hands-on work. I liked working at the Foodbank, boxing and organizing. It’s rewarding when you can see what you have accomplished. I also enjoyed when we went to an elderly woman’s house and helped her paint, rake leaves and clean. She was very grateful for us, and that was great to see. Click to learn more

Hint for the guys: ask your girlfriend or sister about this one. Post a comment below with which movie this quote is from. Anyone who posts the correct answer by Wednesday, January 20, at midnight will be entered to win a “Live United” T-shirt. Play fair — no using IMDB, Google or your movie-nerd roommate. Congratulations to last month’s winner, Supriya Deshpande, who posted the classic “saying grace” part of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation as her favorite holiday movie quote.
