Thirsty like the wolf?

Not even Duran Duran could have rocked rBar last Friday night like the GenNext team of “Aaron Erin.” Aaron Margolis and Erin Fann kicked off Memorial Day weekend, served up some drinks and brought home $419 in tips for the United Way. With the generous support of co-workers and friends, the team was able to surpass the lofty precedentsset by previous bartending pairs.

This Friday, May 30, is the final Serving a Cause week for GenNext. Make sure to come out and support Kevin Haar and Anna Gettemeier in their quest to the top. They’re going to need your help. $400 has been done — can their bartending skills bring in $500? See you at rBar this Friday night.

Who’s the Boss?

On Friday, May 16, Cory Boss and Katy Lachky stepped behind the bar for the third round of “Serving a Cause” at rBar. The pair bartended their posteriors off and broke the $400 mark. Going into the night, it was uncertain whether anyone could top the previous high of $400 set by Mark and Sisi. Determined to be the top fundraisers, Cory and Katy dropped a Ted Williams on us, hitting $406. Much like their benchmark brethen, this could be a record that will not be broken. Coyote Ugly

In week two of GenNext’s Serving a Cause at rBar, Jason “Shot King” Dickerman and Katie “The Governor” McGovern stepped behind the bar to help raise funds for the United Way. The pair had glasses full and patrons minding their own pints and quarts. At the final bell they managed to raise $140 in tips. The twosome served valinatly, but in the end were not able to vanquish the bartending beast that is Mark and Sisi. Click to learn more

“Thank you” from Catholic Charities

Hello United Way GenNext Volunteers!

I just wanted to express my gratitude again for all of the work you did on Sunday, April 27. We’ve really been working hard this year to provide greater opportunities for our youth groups, and having a lending library will prove to be so useful. Not only will our kids be able to bring home books for fun reading, but they will also have resources to use for homework as well as a means to build reading skills. This is very significant for our youth, especially those who are English Language Learners. Click to learn more
