1. Tell us about your job.
I’m a planning associate in the strategic planning department at BJC Health Care. Basically, we’re consultants and advisors to all 13 BJC hospitals. We help them do research on capital purchases, facilitate strategic planning for the future, determine physician market demand and handle a million other unique requests. I get to research some really cutting-edge projects and bounce ideas off administrators. No day is like the day before, and one phone call can change my entire day. Click to learn more
On Dec. 4, 2007, more than 150 GenNext members and guests celebrated a successful year. More than $2,500 was raised for St. Vincent’s Home to buy gifts, winter coats and shoes for children staying at the United Way-funded agency this holiday season.
Guests enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres at the contemporary Randall Gallery in downtown St. Louis.
This event marked GenNext’s most successful year yet: members contributed more than 875 hours of community service and more than a dozen United Way funded agencies received help from GenNext volunteers. Click to learn more
This December, the GenNext steering committee voted to add seven new committee members to the team. The 18-member steering committee plans GenNext events, leads monthly service projects and promotes the mission of GenNext to the community. Joining for 2008 are:
- Nikki Crawford, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network
- Erin Fann, Anders Minkl & Diehl LLP
- Anna Gettemeier, Save-A-Lot
- Kevin Haar, Morgan Stanley
- Katy Lachky, Fleishman-Hillard
- Aaron Margolis, Employment Connection
- Katie McGovern, Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America
These seven new leaders are excited to take on a more active role with GenNext. Their past experience with United Way makes them excellent ambassadors for the organization.
